I was born in the small city of Nelson, and lived back and forth
between Nelson and Vancouver until attending college. During my
childhood and adolescent years I acquired a passion for video games,
so while looking for colleges to attend, Ai Vancouver – Burnaby
(formerly the Center for Digital Imaging and Sound) really stood out.
Since the time video games first captured my interest, I knew that I
wanted to be part of the industry responsible for their creation.

My favorite experience while attending Ai Vancouver – Burnaby was
during the eight months of our Game Production Workshop classes
and our four months of work experience. With a team of twelve
(including myself), we developed an amazing game modification of
Unreal Tournament 2003 called “Clockwork Cannons.” I was the
lead designer of the project, and as such was in charge of
documenting and finalizing all gameplay features. Secondary to
design, I created the levels for the game using UnrealEd 3.0.

Our team entered Clockwork Cannons into the “ Nvidia Make
Something Unreal Contest ” where it won prizes in the categories of
‘Best Non-FPS Mod,' ‘Best Voice Pack or Audio,' and ‘Best Vehicle.'

Following my training at Ai, I was hired on at IUGO Mobile
Entertainment, a local mobile game development studio. At the
time of my arrival, IUGO was a small start-up, but has since
expanded to a sizable force, my experience growing along with it.
In terms of experience, a rising game designer could not have
asked for a better position. During my time at IUGO, I have had daily
exposure to a wide variety of development tasks including interaction
with client-side production and executive staff; however, my main
roles revolved around the maintenance of project documentation, art
creation/delegation, proposal development, and development pipeline
operations as the lead designer. I was also fortunate to be a major
voice in the development tools and internal libraries developed for
      subsequent projects.

My personal interests include the following:

-Video Games (RPGs, Action/Adventure, Survival Horror)
      -Movies (Adventure, Action, Comedy)
      -Sports (Soccer, Rollerblading, Ultimate Frisbee)
-Planning a trilogy of novels based on the Platinum Tears namesake
